We got our tree! It’s an eleven foot Noble. It smells magical. I’m pretty sure that certain smells DO connotate magic, so I’m expecting something awesome to happen once we get this tree decorated.
We found a great tree farm in Carnation. The farm there has been owned and operated by the same family for over a hundred years. Their farmhouse is on the National Historic Register. They have a bakery, a gift shop, Santa appearances, an espresso stand… I’m so in love with this place. They’re also dog friendly! I can’t wait to bring Lilo next year.
Our tree will stand in the garage for the next couple of days. I think we may trim it on Wednesday. I have to move my writing desk into the bedroom before we can get the tree into the house.
Also… spell check is telling me “connotates” is not a word. I know it is. It is from the Latin “connotare”. I looked it up. But, apparently, “connotate” was replaced by “connote” almost a century ago, so to say “connotate” instead of “connote” is pretty archaic. I, however, have said “connotate” all my life.
Am I archaic?
I hope so.
